I had the incredible honor tonight of winning the Illinois Young Adult Soon to Be Famous contest with The Remedy Files: Illusion.

To have a life dream validated in such an amazing way is mind-blowing to say the least. Not only that, but I was surrounded by librarians throughout Illinois when receiving this award. When I was in 4th grade and moved to Illinois, the local librarian (April) took me under her wing and guided me to new books I wouldn’t have otherwise chosen and widened my world, giving me a new place to call home when I wasn’t sure what life was about to bring. These people make such a huge impact on others every day of their lives. I also had the opportunity to meet indie-world proponents from organizations like RAILS and BiblioBoard who are backing authors and charging ahead with life-changing moves in the publishing and book worlds. I feel so blessed to now know some of these people, and am blown away by the outpour of support.

To celebrate this event tonight, I moved the release of The Remedy Files: Rebirth, book #2 of The Remedy Files trilogy to today instead of 11/5! Available by paperback and ebook at Amazon and Barnes & Noble plus by request at any indie store.
